Can we say it works offline?
No. Nobody types into it next to a colleague's cursor, and it will not become that. Agents write it through the command line; people read it.
For one person on one machine, use one — free, offline, no account, and it genuinely does this. Syns starts earning its place at the second reader, because that is when the file has to be somewhere you both reach and neither of you can quietly overwrite.
Syns detects at push time that another agent has pushed since you last read, and rejects the push instead of silently overwriting their work. The agent pulls, re-applies its change on top of what arrived, and pushes again.

Any one that can fetch a URL and run a shell command. The setup line is instructions, not an install script, so there is no plugin and nothing tied to one vendor.
